Student Ministries

Student Ministry at First Missionary gives young people a place to make new friends, explore life issues, and grow in their faith. Our goal is to have a safe place where each person is free to be themselves as they explore and learn where they fit into God's plan.

Youth Group is not meeting at the church at this time, due to COVID-19 precautions and stay-at-home orders.

Youth Group is typically held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:00 p.m. (Use Entrance 6 from the back lot.) E-mail Michael Baer with any questions.

CDYC Update

An excerpt from a CDYC email, posted and received late night 4/22:

The CDYC Committee has been praying for the past several weeks about what our response will be regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and CDYC 2020. There are still so many unknowns which makes planning for an event in June very difficult. The biggest question, how large of a gathering the State of Indiana will allow in June. This week, we met as a committee to determine the wisest decision regarding this year’s camp. After much prayer and discussion, we have decided to forgo an in-person gathering for 2020. This was an incredibly difficult decision to make. We realize that this will be hard for you and your students as CDYC is something everyone looks forward to each year. We grieve with you as we also know this is another event now put on hold.

We also recognize that God is still in the business of changing lives in the midst of our uncertain circumstances. That is why we are in the process of working on a virtual plan for CDYC. What will this look like? We are not entirely sure yet, but we are committed to providing you with the resources you need to create an opportunity to engage with your students. We know CDYC will look different this year, but we believe God still has great things in store for you and your students. We are praying and excited to see how He moves. Trusting in His plan, timing and work in our lives.

I share in your disappointment and grieving. As soon as I receive any forthcoming information, I shall pass it along. Please continue praying for the CDYC organization, our youth, and our youth leaders.
