Beliefs
With all Christians in the evangelical tradition, we believe in the essential doctrines of the Christian faith.
We believe in one God, who has revealed Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the Trinity. (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19)
We believe in Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God and the Son of Man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died for the sins of humanity. On the third day following His crucifixion He arose bodily, and now sits at the right hand of the Father, where He intercedes for believers. One day He will return in triumph as King of kings and Lord of lords. (John 10:36; Dan. 7:13-14; Matt. 1:22-23; Heb. 4:15; Eph. 1:7; Rom. 5:8; 1 Cor. 15:3-8; Luke 24:39; Heb. 1:3; Rom. 8:34; Rev. 19:11-16)
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Trinity, who was present at creation, inspired the writing of the Scriptures, brings about the new birth, is our Teacher and Helper, gives gifts for ministry, and produces godly fruit in the lives of believers. (Gen. 1:2; 2 Pet. 1:21; John 3:5-8; 14:16; 16:13-15; 1 Cor. 1:4. 7; Gal. 5:22-23)
We believe the Bible is God’s Word, inspired by God and true. (Heb. 4:12; 2 Tim. 3:16; John 17:17)
We believe men and women are invited into a loving, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace through faith, and we believe this salvation should be demonstrated by how we treat others. Christians are called to take the good news of the Gospel to the lost. (John 1:12; Eph. 2:8-10; 5:1-2; Matt. 25:37-40; 28:19-20)
